Eilean Donan Castle, Andrea & Oliver

Eilean Donan Castle provided the stunning location for avid football fans Andrea & Oliver, to marry with close friends and family gathered to witness their special day.  Preparing in the Castle lodges in the morning was the perfect start to the day allowing Andrea & Oliver to relax before heading for the Castle.

Oliver arrived at Eilean Donan Castle along with some of the guests before Piper Ian Ruari Finlayson walked Andrea & her Aunty Rosemary along with her bridesmaids across the Castle Bridge.

Celebrant, Penelope Hamilton, welcomed both families to Scotland and to the Castle with Oliver’s mother, Diane, reading a poem she had written especially for Andrea & Oliver.   Oliver & Andrea exchanged vows and wedding rings before being piped out of the Castle.

Photographer Rosie, from loveskyephotography, arranged the formal photo shoot at the Castle with certain family members ensuring laughter was heard far and wide across the water

A win for both teams, Chesterfield FC  and Sheffield United although no mention of who supports who !!

On a rather wintry but gorgeous day in March, Karen & Iain married at the Banff Springs Hotel with friends and family gathering to witness their vows and exchange of rings. Rev H Murray Campbell conducted the marriage ceremony with friends Anna, Grant & Heather providing musical accompaniment during the signing of the register.

Photographer, Martin Leckie Photography, arranged a quick photo outside the hotel with Karen’s pet dog, Hansen, before taking the couple and close family for the more intimate photos in and around Duff House.

As friends enjoyed drinks and canapes at the Hotel the more formal family group shots were arranged before the speeches. Father of the Bride, Brian, welcomed Iain into the family and had written a lovely poem describing how Karen & Iain had met. Best man Gavin, provided some advice for Iain along with some stories which entertained everyone !

Jamie & Faye married at their local Church, Buckie Baptist Church, with Pastor Gavin Hunter leading the marriage ceremony and sister Daisy reading a personal poem. Friends and family gathered from all over the North East and afar to witness Faye & Jamie exchange rings and vows.

Photographer Craig Ramsay arranged the photo-shoot outside the Church before taking them to the grounds of the Mansefield Hotel in Elgin. There guests mingled and enjoyed canapes and drinks around the newly refurbished hotel.

The two pipers, Andrew & his son Innes, piped a jubilant Faye & Jamie into the Reception Hall where Father of the Bride, Davie, opened up the speeches. Best Man, also Jamie, took this opportunity to embezzle the facts and had the audience in laughter with, Groom, Jamie kept on his toes!

Agriculture and Farming went hand in hand at the wedding of Mhairi & James. Rev Allan Murray who was the officiating Minister at Mhairi’s parents wedding performed the marriage ceremony in front of gathered friends and family at BogBain Farm Inverness.

Photographer Calum Riddell arranged the photo shoot in and around the ground of Bogbain Farm before taking the couple away for the more intimate photo-shoots.

Speeches started with an emotional but happy Father of the Bride, Andy welcoming James into the family although as James is his employee he already was part of the family!

Invited guests were asked to add to the speeches, Mhairi’s Uncle Alastair and sister Laura entertained family & friends before Best Man Matthew kept James on his toes!

Mother of the Bride, Christine, welcomed Dave into the family whilst Best Man Calum lamented about the 20years of friendship between himself & Dave but more worryingly was the fact that Scotland had failed to qualify for any Championships during this time!

Kirsty & Phil married at Craithie Kirk, worship place to the Royals’ when on holiday. Friends and family gathered at the secluded church with Rev Kenneth MacKenzie conducting the marriage ceremony followed by the exchange of rings. Close friends Nicola and Caroline read from Scripture to the congregation.

After the service, Kirsty & Phil were greeted by what could be the longest confetti throw – since records began! Eilidh Sutherland Photography arranged the photo shoot around the church grounds before the more private photos at some stunning locations en route to Mar Lodge.

Linsay & Colin married at the exclusive Achnagairn Castle with friends and family gathered to witness their vows and exchanging of rings. Registrar Alison Ferguson performed the marriage ceremony and when confirming that Colin would “share” all, he looked to his now extended family and agreed ! Close friend Jack Robertson sang whilst Linsay & Colin signed the marriage documents.

Katy Gell, the Photographer, arranged the photo shoot in and around the grounds of Achnagairn before the couple were piped into the main hall for the Reception and speeches. Daughters Jordan & Jasmine welcomed Colin into the family before Best man Jock entertained guests with stories about Colin – although Colin did bring the white Adidas bag that the Best man treasured !

As guests enjoyed their meal they were interrupted by some of the staff and burst into song which both surprised and confused guests !

Achnagairn Castle was the setting on a glorious sunny day for Dawn & Andrew to marry in front of friends and family. As everyone gathered and enjoyed drinks outside the Castle, Spud the Piper was on hand to ensure Andrew and his entourage wore the kilt in the proper Scottish tradition !

Registrar Tina Page officiated the ceremony whilst Dawn & Andrew exchanged rings and vows with friends Jamie, Sarah and Ayse reading poetry to the couple.

Photographer Justin Scobie, oragnised the photo-shoot in and around the grounds of Achnagairn Castle before heading inside to be piped into the main reception by Spud.

Father of the Bride, Allan, started off the speeches welcoming Andrew into the family. Best Man Darren wanted to gain a vantage point, so resplendent in “Jimmy-hat” delivered his speech from the balcony.

Poetry was read by sister Jennifer with the official marriage ceremony being conducted by local registrar Tina Paige

Photographer Adam Johnson, arranged the photo shoot around the Castle grounds and as the guests mingled and enjoyed canapes the couple were able to sneak away for the more private photos.

Speeches started with Father of the bride, Raymond welcoming Ewan into the family before the Best Man Stephen took the mic and had family and friends laughing at stories about Ewan & Stephen!

Graeme has now set the bar high for future grooms in Thurso by singing to his bride whilst she walks down the aisle! Before Ashley married Graeme her preparations with her bridesmaids took place at the Melvich Hotel whilst Graeme’s ushers were first to arrive at the Church.

Rev Heather Stewart performed the marriage ceremony and Ashley & Graeme exchanged vows and rings in front of friends and family.

Iona & David married in the secluded location at Drumnadrochit Church of Scotland with the marriage ceremony held by Rev John Ross. Iona’s Granny, Kirsty, read from 1 Corinthians, chapter 12.

After the marriage vows and rings were exchanged, friends and family gathered outside to witness the newly married couple be treated to a guard of honour by local Shinty players with Pepper their dog making sure he was involved in the photos too. Justin Scobie arranged the photo shoot in and around the grounds of the church and as a poignant touch David laid some flowers at his mother’s graveside.

Speeches commenced at the Kingsmills Hotel, with Iona’s father, Billy, who welcomed David into the family with both Best Men, Ian and Johnny adding lovely words to the occasion.
